One of my favourite boardgames! When we play, we play with every expansion, so we need two tables. If yo win, you made something wrong for sure, because no one can stand against the Lovecraftian cosmic horror! What are your experiences? What expansion do you like the most?

Have you played the 'sequel', Eldritch Horror? If so, how do the two compare?

I haven't played it yet, but it seems to be some sort of a "light version" compared to Arkham Horror. The other "sequel", Elder Sign, I played on Tuesday, and it is as well a "light version", but easy to understand and with a game duration of about an hour not that long. The fault, in my eyes, is that it seems quite easy to win the game - and that is totally against the Cthulhu style... Elder Sign is also more about calculating probalities, because you have to roll some dice to win a quest, and you need a certain number of special symbols, but they are not equally placed on the dice. But it is fun, though it was a bit strange at first, because there is no gameboard.

I have Elder Sign and I really like it. It can be very easy sometimes but because it's so dice based a game can also become totally unwinnable very quickly!

We sort of collect Cthulhu Boardgames and have quite a lot so far. From Munchkin to Chez Cthulhu (from Chez Geek), When the stars are right (with the illustrations from the Unspeakable vault of doom), Gods & Rites & Demons (dunno if this is the correct english title, but it's the literal translation from german), Smash Up Cthulhu, some TCG where I forgot the name, another TCG game (but with less confusing rules than the one before). There is even a Arkham Horror Rip-off from a german boardgame company that really looks like a very cheap copy. This we left out.
But so far Arkham Horror is still number one, just because of the great stories that enfold during a game, it feels almost like a novel or RPG.
