I may attempt to paint a full unit of around twelve Mountaineers and Warriors of the Wind. If you succeed, you will be called "Hero".

An afternoon of painting today got me this far...
...it's a bit over exposed. So far, so good and I'd forgotten how much fun it is painting Rackham minis. Once you're in the zone they virtually paint themselves. I reckon I'll have this one finished before I go back to work on January 4th and have made a serious dent in the next one.

I may attempt to paint a full unit of around twelve Mountaineers and Warriors of the Wind. This is .... wow... insane. Good luck for you! My start: base-coated and inked. Yay, the big and loaded ones! Love them! You sir, have quite a lot of speed! Impressive. An afternoon of painting today got me this far... So far, so good and I'd forgotten how much fun it is painting Rackham minis. Once you're in the zone they virtually paint themselves. Wow, this is cool! And you're totally right with the "zone" thing. I usually forget to eat when painting or that I'm even hungry, so much I'm into the process. Ok I'll bite... I'll see what I can find any suggestions? Do you have one already? I started with mine a while ago, this is the troup so far. And I'll paint these two, as they belong to my favourite ones. But first, I will finish my Ophidians, but that'll happen during the next days. The Behemoth bases will be the first ones I'll do with snow, I'm excited about it already. I hope, I can finish them in January, because in February we will have a new miniature that'll have us occupied. But anyway, great stuff to see from you guys already! Keep it up!

Just the skull dangling from his belt and the hair on his hat to do before moving onto the crossbow.

Brilliant! Can you tell me how you get such a nice clean finish? Do you use washes at all?

Brilliant! Can you tell me how you get such a nice clean finish? Do you use washes at all? I'm not sure what you mean by a clean finish. Do you mean nice smooth blends between big blocks of colour? Or something else? All of what I do is working from a mid tone base coat, then work in the shades and highlights from that using washes, glazes, thin layers and a bit of wet blending.
Anyway... all done except for dull coat snow effects and grass tufts.

Lovely! I think what I was getting at is that the mini has a nice softness to it that I never seem to get and looks more "porcelainy" than mine - see I made an entire word up to try and describe what I mean!
