Our friend Kyle Gibson of Temple of the West has announced that they now have the rights to the Confrontation brand in the US (along with “Cadwallon”). He is in works with Gary Chalk, who did a lot of the art for Cadwallon, and has also gotten permission from Edouard Guiton to use some of his artwork that was created for Confrontation. Kyle has clarified this will NOT be done via Kickstarter, and that the releases are aimed at being smaller waves of periodic content.
So the question becomes - what do you all HOPE comes from this?

From my personal wishlist, I’d like:
- while I never really played Confrontation (I was a Hybrid and Cadwallon guy), I’d really love to see it simply continue where it was left off with periodic releases to the existing game, for the sake of all the people who have been clamoring for that.
- I’d like continued releases for the factions that were underrepresented, like Daikinee and Ophidians….but especially those factions that never really got off the ground, such as Akkyshan Elves, Utopia of the Sphinx, and Concord of the Eagle.
- I’d like to see themed clan boxes from the armies that never got them (like the goblin pirates, or the mid nor chess set)
- and this is my biggest, long term desire: I’d like to see a NEW Aarklash board game. While I was a big advocate for Hybrid back in the mid 2000’s…the gameplay hasn’t aged well. It was never a HUGE success back in its day, and I’d wager it would be even less successful in today’s market. That being said, I felt the game had several concepts that could have a place in a redesigned board game, along with other design sensibilities for today’s standards.
But, and this is very important for me, I want it as a co-op experience rather than competitive (Confrontation already offers the competitive experience). Whether it keeps the theme of Hybrid, or perhaps you take on the role of a Free League of Cadwallon, or something entirely different….I’d like to see an iteration of gameplay for a co-op adventure game with multi-scenario progression. Cadwallon would be a gold mine of ideas for this sort of concept, but I do still love the Lodge of Hod’s associated fluff.

Dogs of War this is the most promising content for development.
And you need to start with the basics - further detailing the literary basis of the universe, for example, the Genesis of Aarklash (la Genèse d'Aarklash).

Hey Guys! Thanks for bringing up our project. We are VERY excited about it and have guns firing on all sides with content coming in weekly. At the moment we are working through Gary's amazing body of work and bringing a lot of those units to life. We will begin work on non-Cadwallon units in time and already have several concepts in the works as well as using the cards already present that never had miniatures made. Thanks for the support!

Will the Rackham Legends sculpts be re-released? How about the unreleased extra parts for the Flesh Golem? I wanted to get another Flesh Golem, but assumed it came with the extra parts. How about taking a cue from the Masters of the Universe Classics action figures and releasing the Flesh Golem extra parts in a "battle pack"? This way I could purchase two or three packs without buying or trading for parts.
Any chance of releasing Cadwallon Knight variants or a one that looks almost like the one on the card?

All of the public info that’s been released so far suggests everything will be “new”. It was discussed that the old models are owned by a variety of different people (CMON has lots of the physical models, Stellar/Sans Detour/French government are sitting on the rights for the old stuff). But Confrontation Continuum (Temple of the West) have the rights to make new models using lots of the artwork that was made during the Rackham years, but never turned into models back then.
So - you should expect a lot of new stuff, rather than rereleases of old content.

I know why no one wants to deal with SD, but were there issues with CMON?
The Cadwe Gladiator is a variant of the mail order one from years ago, but I wouldn't mind getting this one too - who owned the rights to this one? I like that they're making miniatures based off the Gary Chalk art, such as the arquebusier and years ago, I converted my own "Kelaz the Bruta"l based on the drawing and the Kelt Giant Barbarian w/2 swords #2 figure. I purchased over 20 Cadwe Crossbowmen and converted them into pikemen. I wish the Ducal Guard weren't so dynamic and modular, as it makes ranking them up difficult for Warhammer.
